PAS vice-president’s daughter learns Chinese, Ahmad Samsuri: My heart is not far from the Chinese community


 

(Penang News on the 5th) Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri, deputy chairman of the Islamic Party and he Minister of State if Terengganu, said that he asked his daughter to study Chinese at Peking University in China. He said that his heart is not far away from the Chinese community.

 

He said that his daughter has been studying in China for one and a half years  and can now listen, read and write Chinese. His daughter is currently studying in New Zealand, but she also plans to study at Tsinghua University for a semester as an exchange student.

 

He said this when attending an exchange meeting with the Chinese business community in Penang today.

 

He said that the reality in our country is that  there are ethnic groups with different religions and backgrounds, so the relationship between each ethnic group must be taken care of wisely, and mutual understanding between ethnic groups is needed.

 

 “I don’t get what I want. Every ethnic group has its own wish list. We must understand each other in order to live harmoniously.”

 

He also said that everyone has their own political stance and views, but no matter hoaw different people’s opinion are, the country still needs good governance.

 

“Research shows that Americans’ trust in the government is decreasing year by year. We don’t want this to happen in Malaysia.”

 

In addition, he also mentioned that PAS’ constitution states that it must take care of all ethnic groups, not just Malay Muslims.

 

“Terengganu is the state with the largest number of Malays in the country, as high as 97% but the Chinese and Indians are also our people and we must take care of their needs and welfare.

 

Attendees included Penang Teoh’s Chin Ho Tang chairman Tan Wei Ru, acting chairman Teo Han Chuan, PAS Penang state chairman Mohd Fuzi, Permatang Pauh MP Mohd Fawas, Selangor Kapar MP Halimah, Gerakan Penang State Chairman Hu Dongqiang and others.

 

Ahmad Samsuri is recruiting busnisesses to Penang. He welcomes Penang businessmen to develop and invest in Terengganu.

 

“Six stations of the East Coast Rail Link are planned to be in Terengganu, and we also have many industrial sites for development.”

 

He welcomed Penang businessmen to contact relevant agencies of the Terengganu state government to learn about the prospects and opportunities for development and investment in there.

 

“People in Terengganu also need food, housing and factories. 75% of our income comes from oil and natural gas, other income comes from agriculture, ports, etc.”

 

In his speech, Wu Tongqiang mentioned that 90% of Chinese people in Penang are afraid of PAS. This made Halimah in the audience shout, “Don’t be afraid of PAS!”.

 

He also said that in last year’s state electon, the DAP had only one issues, which was that if PN won, people could not wear shorts.

 

“The DAP distort the facts. I have no problem eating bak kut teh in Kelantan, but the DAP tells the Chinese that if PN wins, they won’t have to eat pork or buy 10,000 yuan.”

 

He also said that many young people nowadays no longer 10,000 words. Most of those who buy 1,000 words are older people, and young people mainly play computer games.
